A Few Thoughts About Learning
I consider myself fortunate to have grown up in a family that valued education and learning. I’ve always contended that, as a society, we should compensate our educators more highly than we compensate our entertainers and athletes based on the incredible service our teachers provide.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin — Madison with a Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature and went on to build a career in Information Technology. Most of my skills were developed on the job. I learned by doing and by associating with highly talented application developers, network gurus and software wizards. All highly intelligent individuals who possessed natural curiosity and never stopped learning. My kind of people!
To me, one of the great benefits offered by today’s internet is online learning. While there are many avenues for online learning, I highly recommend Udemy, a fantastic online learning platform with an enrollment of 7 million students, 30,000 course offerings and 19,000 instructors. Courses are taught by individuals who are experts with real-world experience. I enjoy online learning because it allows self-paced learning. Courses don’t cost an arm and a leg and you enjoy the convenience of learning from any place that has an internet connection. Listed below are online courses I’ve recently taken through Udemy.
